Lazy Lifestyle Led To Weaker Bones

The comparatively light bone structure of modern humans compared to ancestor  and other modern primates may be due to the modern abandonment of the constant physical activity that was inherent in the life of early hunter gathers.

The most plausible explanation is that a lack of constant physical activity causes the bone in the head of the femur, the long bone in the thigh, to become thinner and lighter than that found in more mobile populations or modern primates such as chimpanzees, gorillas and orangutans.
The other two possible explanations, that humans and nonhuman primates have different bone structure because of genetics, with humans evolving to a lighter, more gracile structure, Or that the large joint surfaces required for upright, two-legged movement decrease the strain on bone and therefore the development of strong bones, do not appear to be true.

Ryan, working with Colin N. Shaw of the University of Cambridge, UK, looked at the hip joint to determine which of the three possib…

Antimicrobial Metal :- Copper !

Copper and its alloys (brasses, bronzes, copper-nickel-zinc, and others) are natural antimicrobial materials. Ancient civilizations exploited the antimicrobial properties of copper long before the concept of microbes became understood in the nineteenth century.

Bacteria, yeasts, and viruses are rapidly killed on metallic copper surfaces, and the term “contact killing” has been coined for this process. In several clinical studies, copper has been evaluated for use on touch surfaces, such as door handles, bathroom fixtures, or bed rails, in attempts to curb nosocomial infections. In connection to these new applications of copper, it is important to understand the mechanism of contact killing since it may bear on central issues, such as the possibility of the emergence and spread of resistant organisms, cleaning procedures, and questions of material and object engineering. Recent work has shed light on mechanistic aspects of contact killing.
The antimicrobial properties of copper are still…

Mission :- Educated Bharat

As we know that in Bharat there a lot of children who never get any education. This is because of their background, caste and other problems. I want to education all of them which is impossible yet, but i have an idea to educate them. In Bharat there are a lot of families and a family has a housewife. I know that most them are not educated, but 50% of them are educated. From this 50%, 25% are working or employed anywhere, but 25% are free. So, when they have their spare time (generally afternoon), they should collect 2 or 3 children (who don't have money to educate them) and educate them, just for 1 hour daily. If one housewife educate 3 children, then 5 million housewife educate 15 million of children every hour in India. And in this 15 million of children 50% are girls, so thehousewives of Bharat educating girls too.  At last, it is my request to all the reader please give you 1% percent by sharing my view, because your 1% will be 10% of Bharat's Future . Thank You for reading …

Does Curiosity Improve Your Brain Memory ?

As everyone knows it's easier to learn about a topic you're curious about. Now, a new study reveals what's going on in the brain during that process, revealing that such curiosity may give a person a memory boost. When participants in the study were feeling curious, they were better at remembering information even about unrelated topics, and brain scans showed activity in areas linked to reward and memory. The results, detailed Oct. 2 in the journal Neuron, hint at ways to improve learning and memory in both healthy people and those with neurological disorders, the researchers said. Not surprisingly, the study researchers found that people remembered more information about the trivia when they were curious about the trivia answers. But unexpectedly, when the participants were curious, they were also better at remembering the faces, an entirely unrelated task.  Participants who were curious were also more likely than others to remember both the trivia information and unrelated fa…

Facts which blow your mind!!!!

Some Great  Facts About Some  Great Personalities . Adolf Hitler was a vegetarian, and had only ONE testicle.  Leonardo da Vinci could write with one hand and draw with the other at the same time.Queen Elizabeth I regarded herself as a paragon of cleanliness. She declared that she bathed once every three months, whether she needed it or not .In 1935 a writer named Dudley Nichols refused to accept the Oscar for his movie The Informer because the Writers Guild was on strike against the movie studios. In 1970 George C. Scott refused the Best Actor Oscar for Patton. In 1972 Marlon Brando refused the Oscar for his role in The Godfather.Bill Gates' first business was Traff-O-Data, a company that created machines which recorded the number of cars passing a given point on a road.Plutonium - first weighed on August 20th, 1942, by University of Chicago scientists Glenn Seaborg and his colleagues - was the first man-made element.Horatio Nelson, one of England’s most illustrious admirals was th…

Did you know your skull is open until you become an adult ?

Fontanelles are soft spots on a baby's head which, during birth, enable the bony plates of the skull to flex, allowing the child's head to pass through the birth canal. The sphenoidal and posterior fontanelles close during the first few months after birth. Sphenoidal and posterior fontanelles are found just above the ear and behind the ear representatively .
The ossification of the bones of the skull causes the anterior fontanelle to close over by 9 to 18 months. The term "fontanelle" is used to describe the resulting "soft spots". The relative positions of the bones continue to change during the life of the adult (though less rapidly), which can provide useful information inforensics and archaeology. In old age, cranial sutures may ossify (turn to bone) completely . The fusion of skull's bone at birth is known asCraniosynostosis . This is the amazing fact of your skull. This process is also seen in other animals like dogs and chimpanzee . Thank …

Questions on World's essential thing :- Water

Q1. Why water is transparent ?
A1. When a material is opaque (transparent) the atoms in that material absorb all the wavelenghts of colours that is why it is transparent. When an object is transparent, the wavelenghts of light that hit the object are not correct wavelenghts of the atoms in the object will absorb. So the light passes through it .

Q2. If the water is transparent, why it reflect the light ?
A2. Water does not reflect the light, but refracts it. There are exists a set of equations called the Fresnel Equations that describe this refraction, And these equations also predicts that a small portion of light will reflect in something is called as Fresnel Reflection. This similar to how it is possible to see your reflection in a transparent glass.

Magnetotactic Bacteria

Blakemore (1975) first documented magnetotactic bacteria and found that the microorganisms synthesize chains of nano-sized magnetic particles that function as a compass needle. This "nano-compass" allows the microbe to passively orient itself in Earth's geomagnetic field . These magnetic nanoparticles are synthesized by a specific set of proteins that are contained within membrane-bound organelles called magnetosomes. Each bacterium contains 10–20 magnetosomes, each of which contains a magnetic nanoparticle. The magnetosomes are aligned in a chain-like fashion, which impart a magnetic dipole to the bacterial cell and allows the cells to "sense" Earth's geomagnetic field .
These prokaryotic Microoganisms are found in freshwater and marine habitats. They are all anaerobes and prefer environments that contains little of oxygen . Magneto taxis is the process by which magnetotactic bacteria orientate themselves within Earth's geomagnetic field and then use t…

World Environment Day (WED)

World Environment Day ('WED') is celebrated every year on June 5 to raise global awareness to take positive environmental action to protect nature and the planet Earth. It is run by the United Nations Environment Programme(UNEP).

Hi, as you know today is world environment day (WED) . You already know that daily global warming is increasing rapidly . We should save our earth and take actions against global warming.
By Taking simple actions we can save our earth and must follow these actions at least today .
1. Don't use your Ac(air conditioner) because Ac release CFC(chlorofluorocarbon) which warn our             environment .
2. If you go to your office, school etc use public transport .
3. At least plant a baby tree in your around .
4. Post a Facebook status reminding people about World Environment Day, and if you really care about the             future of the world post a picture.
5. Refuse, Reuse, Reduce, Renew, Recycle.
Hope, 5 billion people Out of 7 billion people may take …

Put your battery in your phone and Magic!  your battery is charged :D  .       Do it again if it doesn't work .

How do astronauts scratch them when they have itching in space suit?

Astronauts are covered with 13 layer of various clothes and fibres. When they are in space station like ISS, they don't wear any special suit but when they have to do some repairs and changing in the artificial satellites they have to wear a 13 layered suit with a bulky pack on back. So, my question is , if they have itching anywhere on their body in the spacesuit, then how they scratch them ?
